The repair is part of the story.

Mended Light is inspired by kintsugi, the Japanese practice of repairing broken ceramics in a way that allows the mended place to remain visible.

There is one repair, placed along the outside of the right leg. It begins at the thigh, branches as it descends, then separates into smaller fragments toward the ankle. Related lines turn toward the front and back, so the repair changes as the wearer moves.

The design does not claim that damage is easy or beautiful by itself. It honours the attention given to repair. Something was worth tending to, and the mended place now belongs to its history.

One repair, with room around it.

The asymmetrical line stays on the outer right leg while the inner leg and the other leg remain quiet.
